The Optimist Club of Norwich & District was formed by people who wanted to reach out to help youth and the community. People like you and me. Optimist Club Members live or work in the community. Our members have joined together to serve others and promote Optimism as a way of life.

Purpose of an Optimist Club: 
To meet the needs of young people in communities worldwide. Since 1919 Clubs have conducted positive service projects aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. Our Club has been in operation for over 30 consecutive years and Club members are best known in their communities for their upbeat attitudes, by believing in young people and empowering them to be the best they can be. Optimist volunteers continually make this world a better place to live. There are 75,000 individual members who belong to 2,600 autonomous clubs. Optimist conduct 65,000 service projects. Each mission provides hope and a positive vision that brings out the best in kids.

We are always looking for energetic people to get involved in giving back to the community. Annual dues are covered by the Club as long as you contribute 20 hours of service (that includes attending 10 meetings thoughout the year).
